Beta Testers Wanted for Teradek’s New HD Video Encoder, the Cube

July 22, 2010 – About a month ago I posted about an new camera-top HD video encoder that will stream HD content over a Wi-Fi network, called the Cube. Teradek, manufactures of the Cube, is offering a great opportunity for you to get in early and become a beta tester. There are a limited number of positions available so you’ll need to act fast.
Teradek is looking for enthusiastic and experienced HD video users who are interested in participating in the development of this exciting new technology. Beta testers are an important part of the development process, and your input will have a direct influence on the final product. You will receive your Cube at a deeply discounted price to compensate for your efforts (discounted pricing only applies to preproduction units).

Tiffen Steadicam Smoothee Available Later This Year

June 29, 2010 – PRESS SUMMARY – The Tiffen Company, announced fourth quarter availability, of the Steadicam Smoothee, the new “easy to use right out of the box” camera stabilizer. The Smoothee, comes with a camera mount, and will sell at retail for under $200. World’s Largest Photo Taken with GigaPan EPIC Pro

May 15, 2010 – The record for the World’s Largest Photo has just been broken. Awhile back I wrote about a 26 GigaPixel image that set the record as the world’s largest digital panorama. GigaPan, creators of the GigaPan EPIC Pro, announced that a 45 GigaPixel image taken of Dubai has taken the top spot as the world’s largest digital photo. If printed, this photo would be the size of nearly 1200 billboards.
Recently, photographer Gerald Donovan took a majestic image of a landscape in Dubai using the GigaPan EPIC Pro robotic camera mount. He shot the photo using a Canon 7D camera coupled with GigaPan’s EPIC Pro robotic mount, which took nearly 4,250 pictures over a three and half-hour time frame. With the help of GigaPan Engineers Randy Sargent and Paul Heckbert, they stitched together the thousands of photos into one very large image using Autopano stitching software and uploaded it to the GigaPan.org site.
