SlideShowPro Goes Mobile with HTML 5

July 8, 2010 – SlideShowPro is a popular photo and video media player that can be embedded in any web site. It’s available as an ActionScript 2 & 3 component for Flash, as a gallery extension for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and in standalone form for embedding yourself. SlideShowPro is an elegant and highly customizable utility perfect for displaying a photographers work online.
SlideShowPro uses Flash to display images and video on your website. Since 98% of all computers already have Flash installed on them, this was the perfect technology to use. Unfortunately Flash slideshows don’t play nice with Apple’s iPhone, iTouch and iPad. This has been an ongoing issue between Apple and Adobe and the one’s caught in the middle are the users. Since most photographers love the look of an elegant Flash slideshow with smooth transitions and a user friendly interface, they have been willing to pass on the iDevice market. Add GPS Metadata to the File Info Dialog in Photoshop CS5

June 16, 2010 – Adobe has released a free download that allows you to view Exif GPS metadata like latitude, longitude and altitude in the Photoshop CS5 File Info dialog. Once installed this extended information will also be viewable in Bridge, Fireworks, Flash, Illustrator and InDesign. Here are links to download the Mac and Windows versions.

You can also pre-order via Amazon.com and NewEgg.com and will be available soon at retail and online outlets such as Frys, BestBuy.com, costco.com, Walmart.com, Staples.com, OfficeMax.com, OfficeDepot.com and select camera stores. The estimated price is $299 for new users and $99 as an upgrade for registered Lightroom users.
