Diary of a Photographer, How Did That Happen Then?

December came in very quietly here with me. I turned on the radio on the 1st December and they were opening advent calendars and I had to wonder where did December creep in from? Last time I looked it was the end of October and I was just getting off a plane from Italy.
The Healing with Photography course is taking a lot of my attention at the moment along with the thought of getting big companies to send their workforce to me. I’m half thinking if I clear the decks and get the course information to HR managers in December, under the influence of drink from their Christmas parties they might sign their staff up without realising what they are doing! I’m going to have to get a wriggle on though.
So as my thoughts turn to Christmas I’m also starting to look back at this beautiful year and all the wonderful things that have come to pass in my career and personal life. All the new projects I’ve started, ones I’ve let go by the wayside and bigger and more exciting ones to come.
I’ve just got off of Skype from our monthly mastermind call, which has been more like bi-monthly this last two months, as we’ve all been so busy we’ve not been able to commit to an hours call.
As everyone’s attention turns to office parties, photographers don’t really get that luxury. As a lone profession I guess we have to figure out how to celebrate our year and with whom. I am thinking that I might organise a small office party for myself and my boyfriend at a local pub which serves delicious food. Oh who am I kidding about thinking about it. I have held the intention of going back to the place for a meal ever since I went there for my birthday in the summer and had a lovely meal. Having my office party there is just the excuse that I’ve been looking for.
Relieving the stress!
Oh that reminds me, it’s December and I haven’t bought any Christmas presents yet, although I do know what I’m getting everyone which is a bonus. I remember when I was at school with little to preoccupy my creative mind; I used to have my Christmas present list done and presents bought by the end of September! Maybe my present to myself could be a personal assistant so I can let someone do my paperwork and give me time to organise Christmas parties and Christmas presents next year!
