Marketing Campaigns for Photographers #11 Wedding Venues
(part 2)

Last week we looked at one way to associate yourself with local venues using your blog. Today’s post is something you’ll want to do in addition to last week’s post rather than instead of it.

The venue video

Simply create a 2-3 minute slideshow style video using a selection of your images that show the venue at it’s best. You’ll need to have shot at this venue before so you can include interior images as exterior shots aren’t going to cut it.

Include details, exterior and interior shots as well as some action shots.

Try and keep a balance between showing off the venue whilst maintaining your own style.

Animoto is actually pretty perfect for something like this but even a simple slideshow with basic transitions will be fine.

Once you have finished what you have is essentially a promo video for the venue (and your photography).

Embed this into the venue page on your blog you created and post it up on YouTube too.

Most importantly send a couple of copies to the venue. If they like it then you can send them some DVD’s to hand out to visiting couples. Just make sure to include your details.

Michael ShillingI divide my time between being a photographer, retoucher, photography blogger and podcaster. Deep down I like to consider myself a portrait photographer and in my short 10 ten years in the business I’ve taken over 100,000 people’s studio portraits. When I’m not taking pictures I’m writing about it, most of my rambles can be found daily at http://photocreative365.com.
