Go Behind-the-Scenes of a Hot Rod Garage Pinup Girl Photo Shoot: by Boudoir Louisville
Posted by: | CommentsHot Rods and Pinup Girls kinda go hand in hand. What better place to shoot pinups than a great hot rod garage. My buddy Shawn has just this type of garage. It is packed floor to ceiling with really cool vintage stuff. Plenty to look at over here! He also has an old Chevy Gasser in there at this time. I wanted to do a set of pics where the pinup girl was working on an old car. We did a few of those and also shot a few of Bella on his Harley.
We have shot with Bella before. She is kind of a nut and fits right in with the Boudoir Louisville gang! Want proof? Be sure to check out our behind the scenes video from this shoot.
Go Behind-the-Scenes of a Roadside Grocery Pinup Girl Photo Shoot: by Boudoir Louisville
Posted by: | CommentsFor years, I have driven past this old time country grocery store. There are not too many of these around these days. Everyone wants to go to the larger chain grocery stores. This little building is packed to the rafters with stuff. They also serve one hell of a lunch!
I knew I wanted to shoot some sort of vintage pinup girl session here, just needed to put together the pieces. Lucky for me, I have some great friends that hook me up with awesome cars for my shoots. The main car in this shoot is a 1958 Brookwood Station Wagon. There is also a Chevy C10 in the background as well. As we were shooting, a totally restored Thunderbird convertible pulled up. What the hell, I told him were to park and fired a few shots off. By the time he arrived, the sun was way past its prime.
Libby was our pinup girl. She is a true Bombshell! This is our third time shooting Libby, and definitely not our last! Be sure to grab the next issue of Retro Lovely Magazine, these will be in issue #8.
FYI, the last pic, other than my logo, is 100% unedited. Straight out of the camera!
Go Behind-the-Scenes of a Las Vegas Pinup Shoot: by Boudoir Louisville
Posted by: | CommentsRyan Armbrust visits the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas for a classic Las Vegas themed pinup girl photo shoot. Ryan and his team flew to Vegas and booked the Neon Boneyard for a 2 hour shoot, but Vegas was experiencing sustained 40 mph winds with 60 mph gusts. With winds like this they shut the entire Boneyard down because the bigs signs could easily blow over. Luckily they were able to work out a plan to get into the Neon Boneyard before it opened at 7am to shoot before they had to catch their plane back to Louisville.
You can read more about the shoot on Boudoir Louisville’s website.
Go Behind-the-Scenes of a High-end Fashion Shoot with Joseph Cristina
Posted by: | CommentsIn this behind-the-scenes video, Joseph Cristina from Allure Multimedia tests the Hasselblad H4D-40 medium format DSLR camera in a high-end fashion shoot. Joe’s creative vision and “run and gun” style of shooting combined with the superior quality of the H4D-40 captured some amazing images of these original fashion designs.
The shoot took place in sunny Miami, Florida at Shake-A-Leg Miami Aquatic Center and Marine Academy. You may see some familiar settings in this video as several segments of the hit USA Network original series “Burn Notice” were filmed there. If you look closely in the video you may even see a few clips of me. I flew down to assist Joe on the shoot and to cover the event for CurrentPhotographer.com. We’ll be posting a full review of the Hasselblad H4D-40 along with some other photos, clips and behind-the-scenes content from the day.
Go Behind-the-Scenes of a Carnival Pinup Shoot: by Boudoir Louisville
Posted by: | CommentsSince we had such a good time the first go around, I just had to make another trip to the Kentucky State Fair’s midway for a few more pinup shots! This time, I took a past client as well as my hair and makeup artist, Scooter. Turns out, there is a ride called the “Scooter”! Needless to say, he got a little excited!
We started off shooting on the Bumper Cars, then made our way over to the balloon dart pop game thing. After, we had to hit up the funhouse and ferris wheel. While shooting in the funhouse, I told Christy that I was going to shoot her and edit the pic to look like she was upside down. She proceeds to just flip herself upside down! Gotta love her…
