This week and last week seems to have flown by, each weeks, it’s gotten to Thursday and I’ve wondered ‘How is it Thursday already? The scheduling my days in a diary is partly responsible I think; it helps me put so much more into a day and keep me pretty true to what I’ve scheduled. The days are more productive and they whizz by.
Last Thursday it was the monthly mastermind call with our regular business meeting. I so look forward to these calls, it’s good to catch up with people who are all busy doing different things and it’s good to just have a chat with other supportive women who have some wonderful philosophies in life.
This call was really pivotal for me. I have decided to give a presentation at a local hotel, to local businesses, councils, schools and press, all about Healing with Photography. This will be the first time I’ve done this kind of thing. I’ve done presentations before yet never for something that is so personal or directly related to me, and I am so looking forward to sharing my work and demonstrating how it can help the companies present and their staff.
I needed some advice though on just how to do this type of presentation, I already had the bare bones. It will include an introduction, maybe a video to play whilst everyone is coming in, a mini session of the Healing with Photography course and some refreshments.
My friends on the mastermind call had some great ideas that I probably wouldn’t have thought about. How to lay out the room for the guests, little yet important tips about finishing the session early if possible to give them a sense of space and stop them looking at their watches.
And more obvious things, yet things I hadn’t got around to thinking about, a guest list on the door so every person can be checked off the list as they arrive. As of course it’s really important to know who actually turned up despite replying to their RSVP. It’s so useful to get other people’s ideas, people who aren’t too close to the project who can see the wood for the trees. So thank you to our beautiful mastermind group.
Well next week I will enthral you with all the things the presentation is going to involve. Right now I am busy drawing up a guest list and getting the invites out to people. Thank goodness for steam rooms and saunas as sitting at the computer all day sending out emails makes for a little bit of shoulder and neck ache!

Living in the beautiful rural county of Yorkshire it was perhaps natural for Ruth to have an affinity with the countryside and its wildlife. Creativity is Ruth’s driving force finding an outlet in television & radio she worked for many years as producer for BBC & ITV.
However a love of photography and for being surrounded by nature called her to go back to her photography training and bring pleasure and joy to people through her connection with our planet.
Staying in the moment when taking her images allows her to experience the natural magnificence unfolding before her eyes. It is this moment of mediation, of gratitude, that she evocatively conveys through her images.
