A Photographer’s Diary, Make 2012 The Best Year Yet!

Signs of a new year

It’s time to look back at what I predicted would happen this year, through writing about the major areas in my life for 2011 as if it had already happened. And it’s now time to start the process again for 2012.

I have to tell you that as I sat here last December and wrote about what I was grateful for happening in 2011; I thought that I was maybe asking for a lot. I didn’t know if it would be possible to have so much come into being so quickly. Yet what I was grateful for having has come about.

From a business point of view, I put together a Mastermind group, where four business people meet every month to share ideas, set goals and support each other. I decided to make more time to spend with friends and I have and made new ones.

I also had many personal things that I listed, all of which are now in my life. I saw myself with a new camera and by the end of August I became a proud owner of my camera.

Most of all that I held dear was to have Healing with Photography up and running by the end of the year and as the year closes so does my first ever course with a group of a people suffering with many different issues ranging from depression to anxiety to low self-esteem. It’s doing just what I set it up to do and I’m so happy with it and see it growing tenfold.

I am so proud of my achievements this year. As I said to my group last week, we need to make sure that we take the time to tell ourselves that we are proud of our achievements that we make each day. We are our own cheerleaders, so let’s take that time to stand in front of a mirror at the end of a day and say, I am so proud of you for doing this today. Sound a little uncomfortable? Today and tomorrow it probably will be, by next week you’ll look forward to seeing your happy, confident face in the mirror to be told how much you love yourself and how much you have achieved.

So I look back on 2011 with a huge dollop of pride and gratitude I also look forward to 2012 and what I’ve already achieved in that year. Remembering to write it as if it as already happened, I will write out what I want to have happen in all areas of my life, personal, professional, spiritual and financial.

Instead of saying I want, come from the position of gratitude for example. I am so grateful that in 2012 I had so many wonderful supportive friends in my life. I was so thankful that whenever I needed help of advice someone was there, it made me feel so supported, etc. etc.

Why don’t you give it a go? Whether it’s a plan for the year, three years five years or ten. Have some fun and enjoy the process!
