April 15, 2010 – Apple has delivered over 500,000 iPads during its first week and that number is expected to grow over the next several weeks. The demand for the iPad in the US has far exceeded Apple’s expectations and supply. Because of this Apple announced that they will postpone the international launch of the iPad by one month, until the end of May. International pricing and pre-orders will begin on Monday May 10th. Apple knows that many international customers will be disappointed by this news, but hopes they will be pleased to learn the reason – the iPad is a runaway success in the US thus far.
