The title of this marketing campaign really should be ‘Keep hammering away at those keywords!’
You’ve done your keyword research…… fantastic…..you’re picking up relevant clients which match your keywords…..great stuff!
What next?
Keep blogging and keep using those keywords in your titles and the first 160 characters of your body text.
Portrait photographers are really guilty of not blogging sessions. Sometimes the client doesn’t want images of their herd plastered all over the internet and that’s fine, nothing you can do about that. But even if you’re shooting 10+ portrait sessions a week how much extra time is it really to choose an image and post a preview?
If you’re using a WordPress blog then there’s one tool that can be extremely useful and that is Article Templates
This plugin lets you create templates that can be used when writing a new post or page. This will be very useful if you are writting many post with the same structure.
Create 3 or 4 text templates which you can customise for each client.
Example 1
This week we visited Wimbledon ( link to category Wimbledon portraits) for a portrait photography session with another newborn. Mandy was only 6 days old when we photographed her as part if our 1st year baby photography package. (link to offer information)
Here’s a preview from that session.
Example 2
Here’s a little preview from your portrait photography session in Wimbledon last week. This is the first photo-shoot from your 1st year baby photography promotion.
However you choose to blog your sessions there’s no doubt what a wonderful SEO and marketing tool it can be.
This is the fifteenth in our series looking at different marketing campaigns for photographers.

Michael has been working as a photographer for the last ten years. In that time he has shot over 100,000 peoples’ portraits and worked in four different continents. In 2001 Michael graduated with a degree in photography from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Very nice post. I think having a fairly active blog is a good deal for a photographer!
