If you are on Instagram or one of the other photo centric social networking sites you have no doubt seen some cool frames and collages. But Dion Cho has taken it to another level with PolyMagic.
PolyMagic is a frame tool that allows you to combine multiple photos into a super cool framed photo suitable for sending via Instagram or other photo sharing services. When you first open the app, you will see a series of menu items at the bottom of the screen. If you click on “Frame” you will find 36 frames from which to choose. Once you select one of the frames, you will be given opportunities to further customize it. Once selected, you will see a series of red dots that allow you to customize the openings in the frame. At the top, you will see a slider for line thickness and one for rounding corners. At the bottom, you can select “Ratio”, which will let you choose 1:1 for a square “Instagram-ready” frame. You may choose other ratios for other sizes of frames. Once the ratio is selected, you may customize the look of your frame with “Color” and “Pattern” buttons. The color button allows you to select a basic color and then fine tune your selection by moving the plus sign along the gradient, allowing you to choose lighter or darker shades. The “Pattern” button allows you to select from 30 preset patterns.
At this point, you may select your photos. To select a photo, you simply click on one of the frames and select a photo from your camera roll or from among other photos stored on your iPhone or iPad. Repeat that process until each of the frames are filled. At that point, you may click the “Share” button to save to the photo album, email the photo, or post to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram.
PolyMagic is available in the App Store for 99 cents. If you like to share photos via Instagram, it’s a great way to do so.
This is definitely one worth checking out. Hope you enjoy.
All the best…Mike
