“You didn’t take that photo,” your friend says. “You weren’t there! You must have found it online.” Okay. That probably never happens, but what if you did want to take a photo and imbed within in it a photo of you taking the photo? That might actually happen.
Enter the I Was There camera iPhone application by SwissDnaBank SA.
This nifty app gives you the opportunity to take a photo on the main camera. Then the app turns on the front facing camera and it takes a photo of you having just taken the photo. The app is quite simple to use. You simply drag the “drag me” box to the location in the frame that you would like the photo of yourself to appear. Then take your shot. The camera automatically goes to you and a timer captures the next frame. The main photo, with your photo imbedded, is automatically sent to your camera roll. You can also share your photo on Facebook or send it via email.
The maker of the app advertises that an upcoming upgrade will provide a legally notarized GPS location, time and picture. Don’t really know if I need that, but you never know…I’m beginning to think of some serious uses for this app. But since I haven’t done anything serious lately, the photo I am including is one of my wife, Trisha, and I at the Alabama vs. Kent State game.
The app is a bargain at any price (slight exaggeration), but is a great deal for free (not an exaggeration). I recommend that you pick it up. That way, the next time you see Elvis working on the road crew, you can take a photo and let the world know that “I Was There!”
All the best… Mike
PS. Might need to throw a flag on this one, as it looks like there was a holding violation going on in this shot. I actually didn’t notice it when I posted it until @thelandslide mentioned it on Instagram.
