Online Photography Services Leader’s Major Rebranding Effort Strongly Positions Company as an Authentic Empowerment Source and Success Enabler for Professional Photographers; Fresh Visual Identity Reinforces Deep Commitment to Professional Photographer Community
WPPI 2010 Convention and Trade Show
TORRANCE, Calif.–Pictage.com, the leading professional photographer community and online platform for marketing, selling, and fulfilling professional photo products, today announced the launch of a major corporate rebranding campaign, which includes the introduction of an exciting new visual identity, an original and more focused tag line, a revamped company Web site, rebranded products and services, and an innovative trade show booth.
Announced by Chief Marketing Officer Simon Anderson, the new branding is immediately visible on the company’s Web site and other online properties. In addition, Pictage’s visual identity will be officially introduced to the industry at the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) 2010 Convention and Trade Show, March 4-11, 2010, at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Pictage will continue the rebranding effort across other marketing and product assets in the coming months.
The comprehensive initiative comes at a significant juncture for Pictage as it celebrates the successful completion of its first decade of operations, and as it prepares to embark on a new and exciting phase of business expansion and product development. In just the past 12 months, as a result of a newly-installed, highly-energized senior management team, Pictage has reached over 8,600 active professional photographer customer accounts, the most ever; produced its largest one-day retail sales figure ever, over $400,000 in products and services; and introduced new solutions and offerings that have become valued and utilized by members.
“The launch of Pictage’s corporate rebranding campaign signifies the official arrival of the new Pictage, a dynamic company with fresh energy, trustworthy leadership, an intense passion for photography, and a genuine desire to more effectively meet the needs of the vibrant community it serves and values most: professional photographers,” said Anderson. “This revamped brand identity is more than just a new look and feel for Pictage. It also represents the company’s deep commitment to this unique group of artists, and the diversity of viewpoints and perspectives that each photographer offers. Above all, the new Pictage brand is a reminder of the company’s complete dedication to its professional photographer members, and their long-term vitality and success.”
Powered by the tag line “Empowering photographers. Enabling success.™,” Pictage’s new branding more clearly emphasizes the company’s focus on and commitment to providing its members with the practical business tools, inspirational support, and artistic encouragement they need to be successful in their respective photography enterprises. In addition, the redesigned visual presence also reflects the growing influence and importance of the ever-expanding Pictage photographer community.
Developed in conjunction with The Artime Group, Inc., a Pasadena, Calif.-based advertising, branding, and interactive agency, the new Pictage corporate brand identity features a stylized, lower-case version of the company’s name in metallic gray and museo font. The focus of the new brand centers on the “i” in Pictage, which is capped with a distinctive, overlapping, and transparent array of four rounded colored blocks in cyan, magenta, yellow, and green. The collection of multi-colored squares will serve as the foundation for a robust, flexible suite of corporate, product, and service brands – in full color, black and white, and grayscale, and on multiple backgrounds – that will be integrated into all Pictage marketing and communications activities. The result is a stylish, recognizable, and highly-versatile brand identity which more effectively captures Pictage’s many unique characteristics.
The new Pictage corporate brand identity celebrates uniqueness, community, and collaboration. The Artime Group developed a strong, solid engaging mark that conveys Pictage’s mission and values, and highlights the company’s commitment to community and collaboration. The burst of colored squares conveys both the unique vision and perspectives of individual photographers, and the positive influence that members have upon each other. The logo typeface represents the strength and flexibility of the company and its employees focused on the Pictage workflow that enables the success of members.
“The primary objectives of this very important and highly strategic undertaking were three-fold: develop a more stylish, modern, and recognizable identity that clearly embodies the distinctive personality and characteristics of the Pictage brand; design a cohesive, versatile collection of eye-catching marks that may be utilized across a wide range of platforms; and create an appropriate visual presence for the new Pictage that positively resonates with and speaks to our many stakeholders, particularly our core audience of professional photographers,” said Anderson. “Without question, this fresh identity achieves these goals, and it strongly reflects the excitement, enthusiasm, and desire to be successful which Pictage shares with its many members and partners.”
