Adobe CS4 Compatibility with Snow Leopard

ps-cs4-box-photo

Aug 29, 2009 – If you’re planning on making the upgrade to Snow Leopard and use the Adobe Creative Suite CS4, your transition should be smooth with the exception of auto-updates to Flash panels and Adobe Drive/Version Cue which doesn’t work at the moment. John Nack from Adobe has has posted an FAQ about app compatibility with Snow Leopard on his blog, click here to view it.

If you’re using Photoshop CS3 and are planning on making the upgrade to OS 10.6, you’re in luck. The Photoshop team at Adobe has tested it and all seems to be working fine with only a few open issues:

  1. The blue highlight ring around Photoshop windows displayed by Exposé is too heavy.
  2. When using arrow keys to nudge the values in text fields up and down, the values now change more slowly on a Japanese OS.

It’s always been Adobe’s policy not to go backwards and do dot releases on software that is no longer shipping. Even though testing of Photoshop CS3 has been done on Snow Leopard, it has not been done to the level that true certification demands, therefore Adobe does not officially
support the use of Photoshop CS3 running on Snow Leopard.
