I had the chance to meet with Dan Ikeda, Director of Technical Services from Tiffen – Steadicam, at the 2011 WPPI Trade show and Convention, to talk about their latest stabilizing rigs. We take a look at the Steadicam Pilot for full size video cameras up to 10 pounds, Steadicam Merlin for DSLRs and the Steadicam Smoothee for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs and compact camcorders.

June 29, 2010 – PRESS SUMMARY – The Tiffen Company, announced fourth quarter availability, of the Steadicam Smoothee, the new “easy to use right out of the box” camera stabilizer. The Smoothee, comes with a camera mount, and will sell at retail for under $200. The Smoothee can be used with the Apple iPhone 3GS, Motorola DROID, or the Flip Mino video camera, with additional models to follow.
