Come Learn About New Media Marketing for Next Generation Photographers at PhotoPlus Expo

Recently Jack Hollingsworth (@photojack on Twitter) contacted me to see if I would be interested in joining him, Lindsay Adler and Rosh Sillars for a panel discussion about New Media Marketing for Next Generation Photographers at this year’s PhotoPlus Expo. I’m honored to be asked to share the stage with such a progressive group of thinkers and couldn’t pass up this great opportunity to share my knowledge.

The seminar will be held at the 2010 PDN PhotoPlus Expo located at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in NYC on October 29, 2010. If you aren’t familiar with PPE, it’s one of the largest photography expos out there and offers an amazing tradeshow full of new products/services and great seminars featuring some of the hottest photographers around.

It was going to be a very intense 5-day workshop, but by the time they left, they would be stars! Or, so we thought.

What we discovered, after experiencing weak (putting it mildly) results from our marketing initiative was that we had crafted a workshop that involved way too much ‘training’ and not enough ‘fun.’ Our marketing materials were centered on outcomes and how intense this program would be. We forgot one of the basic tenants of any learning experience and that was to ‘inspire’ the person first to want to learn! Read More→
